With this blog I share my exercise and nutrition goals. When people see me they think I'm this skinny guy who doesn't need to loose weight but we all should know that clothes "lie".
I aspire to exercise more and eat better to lose fat and build muscle.
Current Routine
- A few years ago, I was definitely not disciplined with working out, so I decided to limit myself to a few basic exercises until I was consistent with working out every week.
- For the last two years I have used the Perfect Pushup, 2 to 3 times a week. I've gotten some good results even though I have taken shortcuts with the Perfect Pushup workout recommendations.
- My lack of cardio has taken a toll on my gut, and I have managed to develop some unwanted love handles.
- Six months ago I added an overhead barbell press to my routine and recently I've begun to do some leg exercises (And boy do my legs need work!)

Nutrition: What I've done right:
- For the last eight years, I have all but eliminated Soft Drinks from my diet. Eight years ago, I went to the dentist and had too many cavities (my back teeth has a lot of deep grooves). The big dentist bill that I received that day help me to kick the habit very quickly.
- Most of time, I dink water. I am careful not to buy too much juice or I will guzzle it all day.
- I don't buy a lot of deserts when I purchase groceries.
- Over the last year, when I eat out, I rarely get the combo meal. If I buy french fries then I don't get a desert. If I buy juice or Sweet Tea then I do not get french fries nor desert. If I go to McDonalds or Burger King, I try to only buy the dollar burger or chicken sandwich.
Nutrition: Opportunities to improve:
- I do not cook enough. I eat out too much, and I eat too much precooked, and processed foods. The microwave does not need to be my best friend.
- I have a bad weakness for Kettle Brand Potato Chips (Cheddar and Buffalo flavors).
- I do not eat enough vegetables and fresh fruit.
- Most of the time, I do not bring a lunch to work.
- When I am at work, I have a weakness for lemonade and Cloverhill's Jumbo Honey Buns.
